Joy was the leader writer on Season 2 of Suspect for Channel 4. The thriller series has an all-star cast including Anne-Marie Duff, Dominic Cooper, Gina McKee and Eddie Marsan, and airs in July 2024.

Joy wrote three episodes of Lockwood & Co for Complete Fiction/Netflix, based on the bestselling novels by Jonathan Stroud and conceived for TV by Joe Cornish. It was the fourth most watched show made by Netflix UK in 2023 with an incredible 113m hours viewed.

The Pact Season 2

Joy wrote two episodes of The Pact season 2, starring Rakie Ayola, which went out on BBC1 in November 2022. She worked on the series with creator (and Doctor Who colleague) Pete McTighe. The show is on BBC iPlayer here.

Joy wrote ‘The Witchfinders’ for Doctor Who season 11 – more details here – and her Target novel of the episode was published in 2021. She has also written short fiction for Doctor Who: The Target Storybook, Doctor Who: Adventures in Lockdown, and Doctor Who Magazine. 

Joy is currently developing various original TV dramas and adaptations with independent production companies in the UK and US.

Her previous work includes Nick Nickleby (BBC1/Kindle Entertainment) – a five-part modernisation of the Dickens classic, starring Adrian Dunbar, Linda Bassett and Andrew Simpson. More details and clips available here.
